Coaches Code of Conduct

All coaches will remain unconditionally supportive of the SYFFL’s commitment to the ideals of good sportsmanship, team play, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority.  Likewise, coaches will remain sensitive to the physical and emotional well-being of the players.

All Coaches Shall:

  • Be positive role models.  

  • Display and instill in their players the principles of good sportsmanship and team play.   

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that best serves the interests of the players, parents, and SYFFL.  

  • Do their best to provide their players with a positive experience.

  • Ensure their team exhibits good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose (humble in victory & gracious in defeat).     

  • Treat all players, coaches, opponents, referees, league officials, and spectators with respect.      

  • Provide instruction in a manner that is constructive and supportive.                               

  • Teach the game of Flag Football to the best of their ability.

  • Comply with the decisions of the league, tournament officials, and observe all rules, policies, and procedures.  

  • Be drug and alcohol free while at any SYFFL athletic event.

All Coaches Shall NOT:

  • Quit, flop or stop play or encourage players to quit, flop or stop play.

  • Argue with or demean coaches, players, spectators, officials, or Board Members on any playing field or during any team function.

  • Tolerate behavior that endangers the health or well-being of a child.

The SYFFL Board of Directors reserves the right to impose penalties, including, without limitation, suspensions, dismissal from the team, or revocation of SYFFL membership. Coaches agree to abide by the rules and regulations stated herein and are bound to all decisions and impositions of these rules.
